About
A small studio,
made by hand.
Miru makes quiet objects for people who live apart. Held is the first one, a pair of connected cushions that lets two people say I’m here without saying anything.
Why a cushion, not a lamp
Touch lamps live on a side table, across the room, easy to forget. A cushion lives in your lap. Heavy enough to feel real when held, soft enough to keep on the sofa as a quiet amber light. The gesture is the point: you have to pick it up, hold it, mean it.

Founder
Laurens
I started Miru because I kept missing people in small, unspeakable ways, my mother in another country, a friend across a time zone, the quiet between calls.
I wanted something that could say I’m here without asking for anything back. No messages. No notifications. Just light.
